Terese Millhouse is a certified Wellness Coach and Reiki Practitioner (focussing on fatigue and thyroid recovery), based in Hobart, Australia. Terese is also a mum, widow (now fiance and step-mum), author, and survivor of 7 years of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and 20 years of Hashimotos Thyroiditis.
From Chronic To Cured started as a blog website and Facebook page in August 2019, to chronicle Terese's progress while naturally recovering from her chronic health issues. These health issues increased through the immense stresses of caring for her very sick husband, Matthew, who passed away from Young Onset Dementia in August 2015 at 36 years of age (triggered by a traumatic brain injury from a car bomb explosion during his Australian Army tour of Iraq in 2004).
Despite how terribly unwell Terese was, she could not let her husband's death be in vain.
So Terese set out to live again for her late husband, their young daughter and for herself.
Terese had been told by medical practitioners that there was nothing more they could do to help improve her symptoms, and she would have to manage them the rest of her life. So she took it upon herself to try alternative therapies.
Terese was sick of being sick and not being able to play with her growing daughter.
In 2020, Terese fully recovered from chronic fatigue symptoms within 6 months of making major nutritional and lifestyle changes, and has continued to maintain that.
